January Updates
Helping people of all abilities thrive in Toledo for 70 years.
Josina Jones Lott believed that every child, regardless of physical or mental limitations, had the ability to learn. In a time when children with developmental disabilities were turned away from public schools, Ms. Lott was determined to teach, support, and empower these children.
70 years later, her legacy and care continue and grow through the work of Lott Industries. Lott offers adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities opportunities to grow, learn, earn a wage, and create a path to financial and personal independence.
Because at Lott, we believe our community is strongest when every person plays a part.
Our employees learn life skills, job skills, and enrich the Toledo community through their work.
From repacking Spartan Chemical’s products for shipment to delivering 2,500 pounds of fresh food to families through our Urban Farm to recycling six Fifth Third Buildings' worth of Styrofoam, our employees are making a difference in our city.
As we enter our 70th year, we would like to thank each person, business, and organization for their involvement in enhancing lives, transforming businesses, and enriching communities.
Have you seen all the incredible food that’s been cooking up on our Facebook page?
Saundra Irvine, executive director of The Inspiration Kitchen, runs a program that teaches culinary education and skills for people with significant barriers, to grow and have the opportunity for future employment.
There is no tuition cost for students, so that the opportunity to invest in their future is available and possible.
40 students have successfully graduated from the culinary program in 2025, which takes place in Lott’s kitchen.
We are grateful for our generous donors’ who made this life change possible.
As our partner for close to 20 years, Clamps Inc. is a Toledo-based supplier and manufacturer of automotive and heavy-duty muffler clamps.
This partnership has provided hundreds of people with disabilities the opportunity to work, learn, and build towards meaningful business impact in our city. It’s a job that is practical & possible for many.

The land behind Lott Industries is a beautiful property that we have been blessed to cultivate for our Urban Farm.
Thanks to the partnership and collaboration with Lucas Soil and Water Conservation District, in 2026, we will start the reconstruction of our wetlands area that surrounds our Urban Farm. This will help restore the land to its original state and will prevent polluted runoff from entering Lake Erie.
At Lott, our employees’ work goes far beyond our building. Together, we are a part of making Toledo the best it can be.
As we enter our 70th year, we want to say THANK YOU for partnering with Lott and empowering adults with developmental disabilities to live their most independent and full lives.
We are grateful to the Toledo community for coming alongside us throughout the years, and we look forward to the years to come.
In late summer, we will have an Open House to celebrate. More information on that will come.
Join us in helping people of all abilities thrive in Toledo.
Your donation to Lott provides adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to be 100% themselves in the workplace, learning personal and job skills that impact their lives, their families’ lives, and the community.
